Last Friday we had the most awaited first program of the newly elected NSC:
the Awards and Turning Over Night.
The theme of the party was, like, "MILESTONE". We had retro glam attire for that event.
Ducao's group danced the night away on the very first part of the program... it was fantastic! though i was standing on the side of the stage because I was assigned there, i found their performance amusing. :D
And Ducao was superb! She really is multi-talented! She could dance very well, sing, is intelligent...and now a blooming host! Congratulations, Jen!
The backstage was busy with all those hustles. Te Razel, Ya Romar and I were assigned on the program, and yeah, we experienced GGB. There were quite a number of potholes but so far i think we did our job well.
The Turning over of the COMELEC officials and the officers were done before the Awarding of the Dean Listers and the Special Awardees. Reena had her final walk as the NSC President of the SY 2008-2009. We were all amazed at how she had handled all the pressures coming from all sides throughout the year... really, you'd admire her strength if you'd meet her personally. She is someone Cebu Normal University should be proud of; she's a well-shaped jewel filled with character, glowing intelligence and personality.
char. :D
And congrats to Alexa for being the 2nd in the batch! You really are determined, girl. :D
And conrats to Demilyn, for being the SSG senator! Go for the Pres and make history, Fat!

and, oh yeah,

It's the beginning.
RJ, we're gonna give our best this year as the batch's Gov and Vice!
:D
Go, IC!

Oh my shucks! I've read one of the most recommended mangas (Japanese comic strips) my classmates recommended to me, and shoot, i love it!

It's English title is "Blue Miracle" and was written by Mitsuki Miko.
Here's a short summary from mangafox.com:

All the girls are crazy over the swimming prodigy Wakatsuki Ran, but all he seems to be interested in is swimming.
One day, Ageha, a girl who wants to find love, but isn’t really looking that hard, bumps into Wakatsuki Ran. She instantly pegs him as a "stupid, obsessed swimmer" and does not take him seriously.
However, after she recognizes his talent, she is amazed and does something everyone least expects, she asks him to teach her to swim like him.
Except, is that the only thing she wants of him, or is it that she likes him? Moreover, how will their relationship develop and will he reject her if she does like him?

Even on the second chapter my heart was cringing...there was even a referred pain on my right hand. (Hehe... really!) I don't know why; it was just there. Shoot, I feel awkward saying this, but...

it's KILIG.

I like the story so much that my plan for thorough swimming lessons this summer grew very vivid in my mind! :D

Boy, i love the water. It's so cool, so refreshing, so relaxing...it represents so much of many things. And this, this manga, made me more inclined to push my plan, which i hope will be pursued real soon.

I recommend this... you'll also love it! :D

Exams!
............

OVER!

(Love this pic, really!)

Anyway, it was one heck of a ride! A scary moment of truth that we loathed to unveil... the FAILURES we had... grrr.
But it doesn't matter now.
I'm just happy it's done!
Wow, can't quite believe that time flew so fast--it was a blur. Everything was so tough and fast and undeniably shaky that we were thrown out of beat for a long time for the first time in our lives. Char. Really.
But everything's not yet over.
Clearances have to be signed...and the summer class will begin!

I'll prepare my seat belt next time. :D

Last night we had our case conference in our classroom. Sir Betonio, our clinical instructor in Vicente Sotto Ward 5 (Male surgical ward), was present at about six in the evening. Yeah, you heard me right, six in the evening. Our class ended at 12 noon. Imagine the hours...
Anyway, it did not matter.
We were all dressed up formally (because that's what he said) and we were surprised that the other groups were not doing the same thing. The fourth years were amazed we were in costumes and all... hehe. Yeah, we prepared a lot! We had invocation, dance numbers and the backdrops and the reenactment and the lot. :D
Sir was surprised! He did not expect us to do such things. He brought along a fourth year student who also graded us throughout our presentation, and he too was amazed! All of us were confident, yes i admit, and we truly did our best in spite the technical errors and stuff. In the end, after they told us our little mistakes, we had our best grades. Our sempai also said, after adding all our grades, "Shit, 98 (over 100)!"
Wow wow wow!
Good work, guys!!
Our hardwork finally paid off! KC and I spent many, many sleepless nights for the paperworks and I'm so happy to have a very good result! We did our best, that we almost forgot to sleep. We deserve this, we really deserve this!
Thank God!
:D
:D
:D

I'm so so happy...

PS: KC! Please upload the pics... can't wait to have them posted! Thanks! :D

Case con... a SUCCESS!
Labangon Health center is one busy place.
we had the most number of patients there for our two weeks of community involvement. On our very first exposure we were submerged into "immunization" event with a bit of a shock. We did not know that we'd be going through that on our first day. And boy, we weren't ready. All of us have experienced being pinched, shaken, and even told in an angry voice to get out. I won't be bold to say that we weren't scared, and really our wits were tested with that pressure Sir DaƱo inflicted on us. The kids were all very cute, but we were hesitant to inject them... they're such angels! Imagine the cries you can hear every time their vaccines are given! But then we fought our fears, and in spite the things that happened, we have learned a lot.
We had Operation BP in a slum area in Labangon last Friday. Just this Monday we had general cleaning in the health center. On Wednesday, again, we had immunizations. This time we were confident that we won't get reprimanded. And yes! I was told "Wonderful." and "Very good"! Yehey for me and my classmates! :D
On Thursday we had injected preggies. We experienced and saw how Leopold's maneuver was done, and we even saw a newly born child in the center, with the umbilical cord still hanging on the child! It was such a new experience... It's was nice and fun!

But there's one thing I don't like.
My skin got darker because of the sun!
Waaaaaaah!
Whew! weekend at last!!
It's been a long week, and Im catching up with sleep...
Our community duty is over but there were so many memories that i had with it. First was my patient, and for animosity's sake I won't mention his name. He has been bedridden for 8 years because of STROKE, and Mae and I took care of him for an entire week. He has bed sores all over his body, he was very frail and little when we visited him. He looked shrunken, and he could not speak very well because of his situation. Every time we talk to him he just grunts, tries to speak, but no coherent words would come out. We just relied on his wife and grandchildren, who were all very accommodating, responsive, and fun to chat with.
Oh I love his grandchildren! They were very cute and very helpful to us, their ates. Andrew, the eldest, goes to school, so we did not see much of him. Andre, 5 years old, was always there to help us in the 'translation' process. Andrea, 3 years of age, was very very CUTE every time she propped herself on her grandfather's bed and said in a very meek and childish voice, "Unsa to ,Lo?"
Dang it, I'll miss that!
One time Andrea got hold of some chili gel and unknowingly placed not a little, but a HANDFUL of it on her neck! SHe was crying real hard coz, of course, her neck was burning, and Mae and I tried to soothe her before we left for the health center. And then i told her,
"Na, palit ta lolipop! Para d nka mayayay."
ANd she said,
"Diri sa ka, ha?"
OMG... I was touched...!
After she took her slippers, we took her and Andre out to buy their precious lolipops. Andrea smiled again, and even forgot about her neck. Hehe. Talk about diversional tactics! :D

I was saddened when we left them, thinking we would not see them again. But again, it's part of being a nurse. You can't stick yourself too much coz too much attachment could cause problems.
But really, it's part of the cycle called life.
It's time to move on.

But I'll still miss them!
