CHRISTMAS PARTY OF THREE-D WAS A BLAST!

Really like a Comedy Bar.

BSN 3-D Group 1 (without Basnt.. T.T )

Alright, I'll go random here...
the SheEeT Club
(of 3D)

The plan was to start the party at 5 o'clock sharp. But the sharp there was not sharp. We started at about 7. Really Pinoys huh.

Party party at Baseline

Lining up for food..? Nah.
Party time after giving of gifts!

8 of us went to Gimik for a karaoke session, while the rest went clubbing somewhere.

Take me awaaaaaaaaaaaay..

I arrived home almost at midnight. But I didn't sleep right away. I unwrapped my gifts and viola! I got all my wishes in my wishlist!

2011 Execute Planner from Leonilyn

Maybelline Face Powder from Sarah

Belt from Ed

A Girly set of Hair Ties, Head Bands and Hair Clips from Ria
which I unfortunately wasn't able to picture...

And My Favorite Artemis Fowl
The Rise of the Criminal Mastermind

I LOVE THIS YEAR!
THANK YOU FOR EVERYTHING, GUYS!
THANK YOU LORD!

2010...

8.11.10

The semester going by so slowly...
And thankfully it ended.

Yes! First semester over! Semestral break over too! :(
I so looked forward to it! Time to relax... Chill... But with no computer...?

School's been pretty tough, with all those exams and defense and duties and requirements. Name them. But I'm not complaining. It was a crazy and worthwhile ride! Can't quite believe I've got three semesters left in college... Everything so fast that it blurs. But then, everything does move fast. We just can't let ourselves be left behind, right?

Hmmm...

How was my break? Well, pretty boring. I caught up with my hobby: reading. Oh, not medical books! I read novels and books of adventure and mishap. i bought two books by Eoin Colfer:

1. Artemis Fowl: the Lost Colony
A really delightful book. Can't quite believe that Artemis could get infatuated! yoohoo! This was the first book of the series that caught my eye years ago. And it's just now that I got myself one from a lesser price! And I was right. It's the best! A fast-paced, crazy, poignantly written book!
I highly recommend it!
I assure you: you'll love it too. :)

2. Artemis Fowl: Eternity Code
This book was written before Opal Deception, the book I acquired two years ago. Now that I have this book at a lesser price also... !@#$%^.^

I think you get the picture.
I really had fun reading it!
Artemis so genius!
I recommend this too.

Uhm, actually, I recommend Eoin Colfer's books.
This is second to Harry Potter.
Love it.

Of Random Things..

Currently in school today.
Currently in the computer lab.
Currently having our Informatics class.
Uh, FB-ing? Mangafox-ing? Blogspot-ing?
Lurve it.
:)

I have this problem in my blog... it doesn't have a title area or something. Well, been using it for almost three years, constantly changing my settings and layouts... and I couldn't update my dashboard. I don't have any idea how. But I'll probably try in the following days.

My recent posts were about my favorite past time or hobby and about our hometown. I'm going to share more about our place in my future blogs...

PARADISO!

After two attempts of Bogo adventure, my hardwork finally paid off. My Mom and Dad said yes! W000t! For those who don't know the Cebu geography, here's the map:

It's almost at the tip of the Cebu Island.

Anyway, we got there on August 27th. We ATTEMPTED to meet up in the bus terminal at 6 am, but we all met up minutes before 8. Haha..! Mga pinoy jud..
So our bus trip lasted for more than 2 hours. We arrived at Tony's place just in time for a festive lunch. :) Yummy yummy!
Tony's family was very hospitable and accommodating. One could feel them as a real family! :)

Homebodies on the loose:

I'm in Caretta Barangay Health Center now...blogging. haha... well, just had a blast in OR Sotto yesterday. Let me tell you the highlights....

1st day;Monday (August 23, 2010)

Skills Lab c/o Sir Vince

Having a letter A as the first letter of my surname can be a blessing and a curse. You'd get to be the first to do things that no one has ever done yet. I got the privilege of performing the return demonstration first, and yeah, you guessed it right. The guinea pig of the group.Scrubbed out twice, got embarrassed and humiliated in front of the group...I understood, though.Sir Vince was just preparing me and my group for our stressful duty. Sir was just doing his job. :)

5.7.10

I find it quite cool to go ONLINE during CLASS.
Hmmm.
In INFORMATICS.
Hahaha.
Is it really a mortal sin? Nah, don't think so.

But it's still so cool!
I could barely do blogging this week because of the hectic schedule. This is a good opportunity! WHEW.
Hahaha...
Forgive me. It's just quite fun.

Have a nice day ahead, kiddos! :)

2.7.10

Had a full blast of CCMC-ER duty week. Mind you: Noc (10pm-6am) duty.
Oh, I got a case. That's a good thing.

Many things happened. I finally saw with my own eyes the so-called

CODE RED.

Medical Dic: Code red in triage- a life-threatening situation wherein if no medical intervention is done, the person...EXPIRES.

I saw, for the first time ever, a real bloody stomach protruding on the abdomen. oh yes.

I saw childbirth inside a taxi.I saw severed cuts and deep gashes that we all tried to mend and stitch.

22.6.10

It is always a privilege and honor to blog about someone I know and admire so well that I'd forget my name whenever I'm with him or her.
Eh, don't wring the wrong neurons.
I'm talking about a very good friend of mine in college. A funny, witty, one-of-a-kind pal for more than two years now.I'm talking about a SHE.
Curious?Hmmm...
SHE's none other than...
RIA JANE ARNAIZ REMEDIOS
WHOOPS!
That's Luwiez.

Wait....

SHE just had her birthday, you see. And we celebrated it with an adventurous theme: pirates!

Ria at 18!

and there are 18 things I like about her:

1. She's funny. that's irrefutable. :)
2. She's pretty. Prettier than Luwiez. Hahahaha!
3. Guts and Glory are her assets.
4. Loves Corneto. For life.
5. A fighter!
6. God-fearing. :)
7. Writes Unwritten stuff. Yeah, she goes a step ahead whenever she writes her thoughts down.
8. She's got a blog for no. 7!
9. Her pink, cute cheeks. (High-five mga brad!)
10. "A spiderweb is incomplete without the spider." This really made me laugh. Hard. XD
11. Ultra-talented. Char... (sure? hehehe!)
12. Congenial. Approachable. So positive my nega pheromones are extinguished. hahaha!
13. Fashion trendy!
14. Uniquely...hmmm... unique!
15. Has fun up on her sleeves!
16. Vain.
17. She's my friend. Why wouldn't I like her?
And lastly...
18. Ria is RIA.

Well...
Thank you, Ria!
And...
HAPPY BIRTHDAY!
God bless you always! :)

2D is another DEE.

Woot.
It's been weeks... forgive me.
Anyway, I'm making up.

This was taken during our Speechfest last May 6 in the Kalambuan Hall. We had an impromptu contest, declamation, and speech choir contest. Karen T. won the impromptu, Marsyl G. on the declamation, and for the speech choir...
1. "The Congo" of 2C2. "Peace not War" of 2D
3. "Reverse Creation" of 2D
Yep! We won...3rd place! We didn't expect it, of course! We were the least prepared among the groups, and whoa...! So unexpected!
Our hair was painted with red and orange (yeah, so fiery), our lips tainted with concealer and black lipstick, our bodies dressed up with garbage bags and straws, our legs covered with black stockings, our hands adorned with red and orange cloths... yeah, evil...
so choi, our nemesis (the angelic ones from the "Ecclesiastes", "If I were a Voice" and the "Peace not War" from 2C) were really in stark contrast to our costume, to our imposed ambiance, to our speech itself.
It was really fun... :D

5.4.10

I discovered quite a lot from Blogger. I'll be doing experiments in my site in the coming days... for the BETTER, yeah.
I'm excited to make changes myself.
Yep, METAMORPHOSIS isn't over yet. :)

A NEW YEAR AHEAD...
2010

2009 has been a great, flabbergasting year for me. So many things happened, just name it. Discoveries were made, Words were spoken, Actions were done, Thoughts were mulled over. Blast. Fireworks. Innocuous remarks and sharp feedbacks. Laughters and tears. Friendships. Goodbyes. Stress. Meetings. Late-night studying. Or no study at all. Cramming. Naning mode. Anger. Pissed. Pooped. Alive and Lively. Procrastination. Lazy. Relax. Requirements. Failures. Successes. Chills. Marks. Fun group mates. Videos. Shooting. Endless, sleepless nights. Duty. Caps. Control. McDo mania. First times. Extreme. Heart-stopping adventures. Yummy buffets. Variety of birthday parties. Hoodies. Books. Badminton. Sports. Pain. Victories. Coincidences. The Unexpected...

Words are not enough to describe what a whirlwind that year was. But still, I am grateful, very thankful, for that year that taught me a lot of things, that made me discover more of myself and others, that made me test myself to my limits. Grateful for God for making me survive, though scathed and wounded but still alive and breathing and willing to face another year of challenges and surprises..

Here are the top 10 things that happened in 2009 that i'll never forget:
Capping and Badging
I am very proud to say that my batchmates and I already have our caps and badges last June. With the leadership of Ya RJ, we have managed the whole event ourselves and have awarded each one of us what we deserve. It was really busy, and i can still remember the days that ya and I were required to go to school even though it was our summer break. We did a lot of sacrificing...but they were worth it. :)
NSC
I never expected to be a part of it, not once. But when Ya approached me to run with him, I was baffled. I was just a silent one in school, never really showing some raffish flying colors. But when he suddenly asked me to join him, it dawned on me that perhaps I could try. I was hesitant at first, but when everybody came convincing me to do it, I decided to just try. Trying doesn't hurt anyway.
But it did, though not literally. It hurt not in pain, but of surprise of what the results showed. I won the position with Kuya as the gov, and boy, I didn't expect it. I never did.
But this challenge paved my way to discovering what CNU Nursing could show more than the excellence the college is known of. Within the walls of the office, powerful decisions and ideas are put into action in making nursing programs come to reality. The NSC can ameliorate what dragging and stressful CNU Nursing could be: by aiding character formation within the body of the college. I saw how busy and stressful and processed everything was before it began, how patience wavered and temper rose over some trivial matters regarding the Acquaintance party and the like, how every meeting could turn from affable and easygoing conversions to serious ones. It was not easy. Really, it was not easy.
I am thankful for the new found friends in the NSC, especially to Ate Asoy, who was ever the patient one. She held on to her cool even at times that panic should have gotten over (ahahahha!). She's a great role model, and I hope the next NSC President would also be the same as her: determined, patient and versatile. :)
And to Ya too. Thank you for introducing me the NSC. Thank you for trusting me. Thank you, ya. :)
EDGE COASTER RIDE IN CLUB ULTIMA
That was a big whoa! The greatest near-death experience in my life! Imagine yourself dangling (strapped to a seat, actually, but the degree of inclination can be adjusted) on the edge of the building on the 38th floor with nothing but your guts and spirits to make you finish the ride! It was fun, fun, fun!

BUON NATALE!
M E R R Y C H R I S T M A S!

OH YEAH. ♥

Sorry for the late greetings... but Christmas is everyday, right?

Well, actually, I slept most of the time during that day, so... ahahaha...
anyway,
Before Dec. 25, we had a Christmas party (our class) somewhere outside the realms of our school. The Gov and I were late, mainly because we managed a minor event held in one of the ASAB classrooms, which was "The Search for 2nd Year Mister and Miss Nursing 2010". It was a whirl of twists and turns, of pressure, of pace, of emozioni... Whew, dunno what to say more.
But I congratulate the "chosen ones":
Mr. Nursing:
1. Warren Alovera
2. Boysie Garvez
Ms. Nursing:
1. Frances Ceniza
2. Alexa Rose Espina (my highschool mate! *whistle*!! char ka lex ha..)

I wonder what will happen next year...
hmmmmm...

I received a hoodie from Mehlai (thanks a lot!) and a book from April.
Thank you!

In Ayala after the party.
Pretty girls, huh? ♥

KARAOKE rocks!
Thanks to you!

Woot!
My birthday just passed...
and i feel sad coz i don't have pictures for that day.
That day was full of memories... and tears. gaaaaaaahahahahah!
Anyway, I'll tell the details in the coming days...
And also the cosplay thingy...
NB: Tayo, Cyrus and I were spectators. ahahaha.

Misa, Mei Ling, The twins , schoolgirl, Sakura, Shaoran
wait, where's the Millenium Earl?

It was a blast!

The Otakufest was held on the UP Cebu grounds yesterday, December 12, 2009. The place was adorned with costumed individuals who took time (and money and effort!) to prepare themselves for the said event. From the Cardcaptor Sakura to the Naruto group (gaaaaaah! KAKASHI!), one could really say it was an event everyone was looking forward to.
wait,
where's my Kakashi picture??
Hahahaha...

29.11.09

Hello kiddos!
I'm baCK!
Hehehe...
I had a busy week last week. Very busy because I was on duty. LR/DR!

Everything was so busy because those mom wannabes gave birth simultaneously. Some even gave birth in the labor room. They can't wait to be ushered to the DR! In the process all of us (health care staff) were running to and fro to prepare the delivery set, to glove, to do everything we need to do before, during and after a delivery. Once was a peaceful waiting, then all of a sudden newborns burst forth and everything and everybody went hectic. It was fun, really! There were lots of bloopers that I could still laugh at even now. hahaha!
One could feel the excitement coupled with apprehension there...
And one factor that helped us to handle things with grace under pressure was the outgoing interns we had during our shift and the USC people we worked with. They're a friendly bunch. :)
While waiting for a woman to push her child out of her womb, we would do cherry balls and folded OS while chatting like mad. haha!
Oh i could remember the breech deliveries! I finally saw a footling! :)
We spent a lot! Yeah. We weren't allowed to go out without changing our clothes (you'll be entering an unsterile ground once you leave the Labor room, and that's against the principle), so we were forced to call McDonald's, Jollibee or KFC to have our dinners delivered. Good for those who brought their baons... but of course, you can't resist the coke float, right?

Ok, I'll mention some bloopers:
1. the diaper accident (mine)
2. the pinkie swear (mine)
3. drop-the-sutures (oh they were many of them...)
4. Mop-the-floor (all)
5. Gloves washing expertise (all)
But this thing is something serious: HepB-no-gloving incident. Next time we have to learn everything about our patients...

hahaha!
Go DR!
Go Group 4!

PS: We pray for the souls of those neonates who died, especially during our shift. IUFD (intra-uterine fetal death). May you little angels rest in peace.

17.10.09

WeeeH!
Break!!
At last!
But naa pa ko replacements. hahahaha...
Anyway, these are some pics I got from my Facebook. This was during our exposure in Buhisan.

Wooot. so many things happened then. It was a paradise, mainly because there was less stress there than in school and in the hospital. I loved the scenery, the journey, the adventures. Especially the dam adventure! Our group was the first group that ventured the forest just to get to the dam. It was tiring, with all those rocks and tree roots and slippery earth... but we managed to reach the dam (scathed, really.) for more than 30 minutes of jumping, skidding and sliding. hahahah! But on the last day 4 groups went there to have our pictures taken! hahaha!

Thanks to Ma'am Cañeda, who was so game, so fun, and so jamming! She went with us all the way to the top!
To my groupmates, thank you! I had fun with you guys! It's such shame that we won't be together again... na-reshuffle na ta bai. Sigh. But it doesn't matter. We're still friends, we're still the noisy and crazy RLE group 1 of the first sem!

I'm very happy to tell you... you're reading my 100th blog!
And for this celebration, I dedicate this 100th blog to my college friends from Cebu Normal University, Bachelor of Science in Nursing... 1-C!
We have been together, intact, for a year. We have experienced the long and tiring yet fun journey in CNU, through the sleepless nights, fast-paced lectures, simultaneous return demos, mind-boggling unit and moving exams, and the hair-raising sermons and reprimands of our mentors. But we did not bend even at times we wanted to just put everything down and give up. I'm getting amardz... anyway, for us Wansee, i have this collection of quotes that I've saved in my phone for a long time...I also added some funny quotes of our CIshmmmm, if you have anything to add, please don't hesitate to tell me. A nurse...

Yup, been doing some Nursing stuff over the past weeks. That's why I wasn't able to blog for a few weeks...a busy, busy 'baka'. Hehe...
My last post was Jem's birthday. I want to blog about the other debuts I've attended for the months of April and June, but first I have to secure some pictures. :D
1. Cherssy's Debut
2. April's celebration in McDo
3. Jam's debut in Liloan
4. Monece's debut in Fort San Pedro
I'll blog on them one by one in a few days. hehe.

Last week we had our duty in VSMMC Ward 1 (Gyne Ward), now for 8 hours. Yep, our duty was pm:2pm-10pm. It was our first time to duty for 8 hours, since our first duty month (February) was just for four hours. Waaaah, it was GGB! Imagine, we had the whole ward by ourselves during our shift, and the shift before us has 3 schools in it! Oh yeah, GGB.
But it was fun anyway. :D
One of my patients, who has been there for more than a month, was unable to bathe herself ever since she was operated. She was extremely grateful when I provided cleansing bed bath. Char...
There are so many things that happened during our shift. I have done things that i haven't done before, like regulating an IV, changing the IV bottle, KSS, draining the FBC, eliminating catheters, and the like. I was delighted by my experiences that week. The whole group was. :D

PS: i like the anime nurse. So cute... :D

25.4.09

Two weeks of unrelenting summer classes finished! Two more to go, plus a week duty! waaaaaaaaah...
It's like I never got a break...
tsktsk.
Anyway, last April 3 we celebrated Jem's (Jeremy) birthday in MoOon Cafe in IT Park. This guy is one of my group mates in our RLE (Related Learning Experience), and we've been on the same group since we started our duty. Hey, girls out there, check this guy out..! A Snow White in a man's flesh! wahahaha... He graduated from Sacred Heart Jesuits, and yup, matinga jud ka ngano naa siya sa Cebu Normal. He may look like that, with those stunning hazel eyes and a goofy grin, but he's a good friend. And a funny guy too.

He's that blue one.

Oh! I forgot to add...
Sorry girls.
He's already taken.

I could remember one duty night in Vicente Sotto...
We were just done with our routine that night, and I just came out of the nurse's station to fetch my patient's chart when I met him on my way out. Our clinical instructor (Sir B) came out of nowhere and laughed at him. I turned to my group mate to ask what was going on when our CI said something like this,
"Ngano man ka, Lucero? Tamaa nimo uie." (What's with you, Lucero? You look pretty weird.)
I took a second look at Jem. He was wearing a wide weird smile that did not seem to fall off his face. PLASTERED on his face actually.
"Di, sir. Kung cheerful ko sir, mu-cheer up pud ako patient. Lain man pud kung mag.mug-ot ko, di ba sir?" (No, sir. If I become cheerful, my patient will be cheerful too. It won't do him any good if I'm not in a happy disposition, right, sir?"
He flashed his wacky smile again.
Sir and I laughed this time.

It's great having someone like him as a friend. :D
Happy birthday, Jem! Belated, I mean. :D
