Hello kiddos!
I'm baCK!
Hehehe...
I had a busy week last week. Very busy because I was on duty. LR/DR!

Everything was so busy because those mom wannabes gave birth simultaneously. Some even gave birth in the labor room. They can't wait to be ushered to the DR! In the process all of us (health care staff) were running to and fro to prepare the delivery set, to glove, to do everything we need to do before, during and after a delivery. Once was a peaceful waiting, then all of a sudden newborns burst forth and everything and everybody went hectic. It was fun, really! There were lots of bloopers that I could still laugh at even now. hahaha!
One could feel the excitement coupled with apprehension there...
And one factor that helped us to handle things with grace under pressure was the outgoing interns we had during our shift and the USC people we worked with. They're a friendly bunch. :)
While waiting for a woman to push her child out of her womb, we would do cherry balls and folded OS while chatting like mad. haha!
Oh i could remember the breech deliveries! I finally saw a footling! :)
We spent a lot! Yeah. We weren't allowed to go out without changing our clothes (you'll be entering an unsterile ground once you leave the Labor room, and that's against the principle), so we were forced to call McDonald's, Jollibee or KFC to have our dinners delivered. Good for those who brought their baons... but of course, you can't resist the coke float, right?

Ok, I'll mention some bloopers:
1. the diaper accident (mine)
2. the pinkie swear (mine)
3. drop-the-sutures (oh they were many of them...)
4. Mop-the-floor (all)
5. Gloves washing expertise (all)
But this thing is something serious: HepB-no-gloving incident. Next time we have to learn everything about our patients...

hahaha!
Go DR!
Go Group 4!

PS: We pray for the souls of those neonates who died, especially during our shift. IUFD (intra-uterine fetal death). May you little angels rest in peace.
